Every person and certainly every student has had their pick up positive and negative run throughs with language. My personal background with writing and and then language has been very influential on me, particularly in my selection process for the pieces I would write about in this assignment. In this essay I will analyze the quotes by Stephen King and A Case for Short Words by Richard Lederer to demonstrate that although both arguments are effective, Lederers is the strongest. I selected the pieces by Lederer and King because, to me as the subscriber, they where the most convincing of the writings provided. However, this is in no small part due to my own experiences with language. You see, I find English classes (for that matter papers) and complex readings to be terrifying.
