Amanda Arroyo Sociology 200-02 Professor Finley 21 March 2010 Education Reflection Paper These 5 articles on Education were so interesting to me it captivated me when it got to the coda two articles. Especially the one about How Americas schools cheat girls. Although I was fortunate enough to go to a good high school and now I hear a good university, It made me notice the difference in my learning as a issue woman compared to those young men I live been in the same schoolroom with. Some of the menstruations that the writer points out made me think binding on my classes in high school. Male students controlling the classroom, receiving much praise for the intellectual quality of their ideas, were things I never detect until reading the article. It is as if sexism starts as early as schooling. only if as said in the article, girls appear to be doing wear out in school on the surface. As if boys are scare to look like they are the smart ones. Another point that brought me back to what I have seen. For 4 socio-economic classs I attended a private high school that had uniforms to be worn every day. Every quarter when your grade would go out, if you had a certain gpa or higher, you were able to have dress megabucks day.

I can honestly read that a lot of my guy friends that met the guidelines to have dress down day would hardly do it. As if they did not exigency to seem they are smart. exclusively once a year when we were able to donate money to a certain experience and if we paid were able to dress down, all the guys that would not do it because of their high grades were the first ones to turn in their money so they can dress down. Another interesting concept that I noticed but never paid attention in like manner was the amount of girls dressed down for meeting the academic requirements. But then again, I always remember at least 10 more girls in detention because they were not hypothetic to dress down that day. Could these girls be putting on a front?
