Contraception Controversy 3
Controversy of Contraception Availability in High School
Of the many controversial debates that have affected the joined States, providing inner education and contraception in our nations high schools has been one of the most significant. Some of the most familiar preventative devices are condoms and the birth control pill. Both of these devices treasure against pregnancy, while condoms have added protection against most evokeually transmit complaints (STD) and human immunodeficiency virus. This sparks up the question should high schools be allowed to provide contraception and sex education to their students? The answer is yes; high schools should offer a sexual education course of study and provide contraceptives to students.
The most alpha reason for public high schools to implement a sexual education course and make contraception available is simply prevention. With available contraception and a sexual education class to teach students when and how to employment it, the number of unwanted pregnancies and incidences of STDs and HIV will decrease.
Condoms seem to be the most important contraceptive method among jejuners because [they] are seeking protection against both disease and pregnancy, a protection that condoms provide (Santelli, Morrow, Anderson, & Lindberg, 2006, p. 110). Increasing the handiness of their preferred contraceptive will increase the number of teenagers that use it and decrease the instance of unwanted pregnancies, STDs, and HIV.
Many parents worry that sex education and condom availability encourage and increase teenage sex, but that is not the case. Studies across the United States repeatedly present that teenagers are already having sex at young and younger ages (Singer, 1994, p.78).
