Romanticism
Romanticism in the late 18th to mid-19th century unite philosophy and arts. The meaning of Romanticism is imagination, free registerion, feeling, a connector with nature, and the intellect vision of a creative artist. The Romantic nominal head can be described as a mood that is full of emotion and stunner with many original and provoke elements. Often an artist transcends reality by means of art and ego expression. Romantic art shows emotions that are painted in a bold and dramatic style that emphasis on the past. melancholiac themes and dramatic tragedy are often used by Romantic artists.
Romanticism in Painting
Romantic paintings were used to express freedom from social and artistic rules. The viewers are singly affected by Romanticism through color and the issuance matter. Emile Zola (1840-1902) a French novelist said of Romantic naturalism A work of art is part of the universe as seen through a temperament. Sporre, 2011 (p. 320)
Francisco de Goya (1746-1828) a Spanish painter and print noble used his paintings to fight against abuse carried out by the government.
His paintings captured the emotions of humanity, nature, and sometimes their evil actions. Francisco de Goya (1808-14) painted a monumental canvas which shows alarm and defiance on the peasants shielding their eyes and faces with their hands, blood seep on the ground, and a firing squad shooting at unarmed peasants at close range. The viewer cannot help moreover focus on the man wearing the white garb who is about to be executed.
