Mr. Stern had caught on to this routine, and begun to forge as many work permits as he could to prevent several Jews from going to the inhumane camps. In one scene of the movie Mr. Schindler and his wife went horseback go in the hills on what seemed like a beautiful day at first, but is abruptly interrupted by the fearful round up of Jews out of the ghettos.
