To stay remain competitive, Mike Hammer had to determine a way to increase revenue and reduces expenses. He addressed his concerns to Director Mark Williams, however Dr. Williams was opposed to Hammers ideas and felt the physicians actions were the practice of computable medicine (Hellriegel & Slocum, 2009, p. 546).

To execute his plan, Hammer hired a Harding as the new COO giving her authority to reduce cost and increase the efficiency of the hospital by any means. Harding was outright making decisions for the entire hospital and without the approval of anyone else. She also allowed her assistant, buttocks Will, to do the work that she was given authority to do. Harding did not enjoyment the proper procedure when terminating the Dr. Boyer, the hospitals attending heart specialist responsible for interpreting electrocardiograms.
